Step into our brand new dedicated premier pickleball facility, where open play, junior, and adult classes meet your needs. Experience PlaySight technology for video analysis, premium equipment rentals, and engage in events to meet like minded pickleball enthusiasts.

This summer, give your child the ultimate racquet sports experience at Northwood, the Lehigh Valley’s premier destination for junior athletic development. We are proud to offer two exciting, skill-boosting programs for kids of all levels:

All-Racquets Summer Camp

High Performance Tennis Camp

Designed for competitive junior players ready to take their game to the next level. This elite camp includes match play, speed & agility training, video analysis, and personalized feedback from experienced coaches.

WEEKLY SESSIONS: June 16 – August 22

Full Day: 9:30AM – 4:00PM

Half Day AM: 9:00AM – 12:00PM

Half Day PM: 1:00PM – 4:00PM

Rain or Shine – Indoor & Outdoor play guaranteed

Ideal for beginner to intermediate players

The perfect introduction to racquet sports in a fun, supportive environment. Campers rotate through Tennis, Padel, Pickleball & Racquetball daily, gaining confidence, coordination, match play and love for the racquet sports.

WEEKLY SESSIONS: June 16 – August 22

Full Day: 9:30AM – 3:30PM

Half Day AM: 9:30AM – 12:00PM

Founded in 1975, Northwood has been a cornerstone of racquet sports and fitness in Lehigh Valley. We are celebrating 50 year anniversary and grand re-opening in 2025, offering an unparalleled environment with 20+ indoor and outdoor multi sport courts at our disposal. Apart from racquet sports such as tennis, padel, pickleball, and racquetball, Northwood features wallyball, beach volleyball, beach tennis and golf simulator (coming soon!), a full size fitness center and comfortable lounge areas for relaxation. Our Team

JHON DIAZ

Jhon Diaz, Director at Northwood, brings over 18 years of experience in the racquet sports industry, with a focus on designing innovative programs and enhancing member experiences. Over the past six years, he has excelled in developing tailored racquet programs to address the evolving needs of country clubs and racquet sports clubs in the Northeast. Certified in tennis, platform tennis, pickleball, and padel, Jhon’s expertise spans multiple disciplines, ensuring exceptional service and a world-class experience for all members.

michael khmia

Mikheil Khmiadashvili is a former Davis Cup player and ATP-ranked professional in both singles and doubles. During his collegiate career, he achieved a Top 20 NCAA Division I ranking and was named the 2017 Big East Conference Player of the Year for Butler University. As a junior, Michael secured notable victories over current ATP Top 10 players, including Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov. He also served as an assistant coach at Santa Clara University, contributing to their Top 50 ranked tennis program success.

JERMAINE SMITH

Jermaine Smith has been a racquet sports professional for over 20 years. A highly accomplished tennis player, he held ATP world rankings in singles and doubles, won five Jamaica National Championships, and was named Jamaican Tennis Player of the Year four times. Jermaine also represented Jamaica in the Davis Cup for over a decade and served as an assistant coach. His passion and expertise in racquet sports make him an integral part of the Northwood team.

ELESSA JACOBS​

Elesa Jacobs has been a racquet sports professional at Northwood since 2016. A highly accomplished tennis player, she captained Easton High School's team and earned numerous accolades, including being a 3x District XI Champion, 3x EPC Champion, and 3x EPC MVP. She competed at the NCAA Division I level for Towson University while earning her B.S. in Psychology. Elesa's expertise and passion for racquet sports make her an integral part of the Northwood team.

karolina chernaya

Karolina Chernaya brings years of experience as a player and coach to Northwood. A former professional player with a top 700 WTA ranking, she also competed at the NCAA Division I level on a full scholarship at Campbell University, earning Freshman of the Year and multiple student-athlete awards. Karolina’s passion for tennis and focus on technique, footwork, and problem-solving make her an integral part of the Northwood team.

CHaris Innarella

Charis, Northwood's Front Desk Manager, has been a valued part of the team for over 35 years, bringing her passion for sports and dedication to creating exceptional member experiences. A competitor on USTA teams and an avid pickleball player, Charis has over 30 years of coaching experience. She also serves as the Assistant Field Hockey Coach and Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Freedom High School. Charis’s commitment to the success of both members and staff makes her an integral part of the Northwood team.
